About Us

Reynolds Motor Co. started as a vision in the mid 1920's by the original founder Erdie O. Reynolds.  After working for a Ford dealership in both sales and management for several years, Mr. Reynolds decided he wanted a dealership of his own.  At that time, Ford did not have any dealerships available, but in 1925 he got his chance and came to East Moline and began the buyout of Horst-Strieter Ford.  In 1930 his vision was realized and Reynolds Ford was in operation at 1025 16th Street, East Moline, Illinois.  From that time, the store grew and expanded with his son Doug Reynolds coming to work in 1949, learning the business from the ground up and taking the helm in 1957.

As his father before him, Doug Reynolds had his own vision of a bigger and better Reynolds Ford, to better serve East Moline and the growing Quad City area.  So in 1969, Reynolds Ford moved to its' current location of 1900 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline, Illinois.  Over the years, the Reynolds family has continued to expand and develop the store, to better serve its' customers and the community.

In 1976 Doug's son, Scott Reynolds started his career in the family business, doing as his father had, learning the business from the bottom up, and the importance of customer satisfaction from the beginning.  Just like his father, Scott also has a vision for the future, as they worked together through Reynolds' latest expansion and remodeling which was completed in the summer of 1996.  Since then, Scott has taken the reins of the business and continues the tradition of his father and grandfather before him, making Reynolds Ford the oldest family owned dealership in the Quad Cities.
